Riverview Town Board Meeting
MINUTES FOR ANNUAL TOWN MEETING OF APRIL 2010
The meeting was called to order by Town Chairperson Ann Hogan
at 7:00 P.M. on April 13, 2010.
All stood for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Minutes from the 2009 Annual Meeting minutes were read by
Town Clerk Arnold Bubolz. There were no additions or corrections.
Motion to approve by Wally Remic and seconded by Judy Wanner.
Motion carried.
2009 Financial Report:
Copies were included in the Annual Report booklet. Chairperson
Hogan asked if there were any questions. Various informational
questions were asked and resolved. Nels Jensen made a motion
to approve, Kitti Orchel seconded. Motion carried.
Fire Department Reports:
Riverview by Don Seifert-Quiet year in 2009. No structure fires
in 2009.
Crooked Lake by Wally Remic-They had 2 grass fires in 2009.
Ambulance Report: by Judy Wanner and Dick Booth.
208 calls in 2009-calls are increasing. FEMA grant was finished
in 2009. Six to seven new members were added in 2009. Rescue
vehicle was purchased in fall of 2009 and new ambulance will
be purchased in 2010.
Road Report: by Ann Hogan-
In 2010 there will be a T.R.I.P. program with Tar Dam being reworked
from Neiman Road to Sullivan Springs. Upham Lane will have rocks
removed.
Cemetery Report: by Dick Booth-
New road was chip sealed in 2009 and Landscaping was finished.
Land Use Report: by Harlan Trosch.
The Land Use Committee consists of five members, and current
members are Bob MacIntosh, President; Harlan Trosch, Vice-President;
Erv Limberg, Elsie Jensen, Paal Hansen and Tawny Booth, Secretary.
They meet monthly to review surveys, land divisions, and plats.
They worked with Hidden Bear Trail ATV club on ATV routes in
2009 and also are working on Long-term Recreation Plans for the
town.
Recycling Report: by Harlan Trosch.
Furniture roll offs will be at the sites for Memorial weekend.
Motor Oil, TV and electronic equipment may be dropped off at
Tar Dam site-fee involved. No Goodwill box at Tar Dam.
Animal Control Report: by Mike Rzepka-
No report.
Six Town Board Meetings: by Ann Hogan.
Six Northern Town Boards have been meeting jointly to address
common problems and increase communications with the county.
Currently looking at Municipal Court System.
U S Forest Service: by Ann Hogan.
Forest Service will be working on Loon Rapids and Riverview road
in 2010. Received a grant from Forest Service for 50% of the
cost to replace the signs on Old 32, Tar Dam, Maiden Lake and
North Maiden Lake Roads. Forest Service also will replace the
restrooms at Nelligan Lake Boat Landing.
A motion was made by Don Seifert and seconded by Nels Jensen
to accept preceding reports. Motion carried.
Appointment of Banking Facilities:
Treasurer Smith stated working relations have been good at Wells
Fargo and recommended it is in the best interest of the town
to stay with Wells Fargo Bank at Mountain. A motion was made
by Chris Donnick and seconded by Kitti Orchel to stay with Wells
Fargo. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Wally Remic and seconded by Mike Donnick
to grant the Board authority to sell obsolete property with a
value under $15,000.00. Motion carried.
Chairperson Hogan listed the following goals completed:
1) Completed NIMS Courses and the Town is in compliance.
2) Worked with the Hidden Bear Trail ATV Club on opening
various routes.
3) Landscaping completed at Fire Station/Town Hall.
4) Skating Rinks and Sledding Hill completed.
Chairperson Hogan listed the following goals for 2010:
1) Continue installing new larger reflective Road Name
Signs.
2) Review Ordinances, eliminate outdated and revise those
needing changes.
3) Review fee schedule, compare fees to other towns and
revise as needed.
4) Continue promoting Parks & Recreation activities
and propose joint projects with Northern Towns.
Voter Requests and Desires:
Discussed Court System. Judy Wanner stated that if there are
problems with ATV Routes, that all people be allowed to vote.
Mike Donnick emphasized the need to review ATV Agreements each
year.
Set Date for Next Annual Meeting:
Nels Jensen made a motion to set April 12, 2011 at 7:00 P.M.
as the date and time for the next Annual Meeting. Mike Donnick
seconded. Motion carried.
Adjournment
Wally Remic made a motion to adjourn. Kitti Orchel seconded.
Meeting adjourned at 7:55 P.M. There were 15 citizens in attendance.
