RIVERVIEW PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING
Tuesday, September 28, 2010 - 6:00 PM
Riverview Town Hall
MINUTES
Meeting called to order by Chair Bob MacIntosh at 6:00 pm.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
ROLL CALL-Elsie Jensen, Paal Hansen, Bob MacIntosh, Harley
Trosch, Mike Donnick and Tawny Booth were all present.
CERTIFICATION OF OPEN MEETING LAW-Minutes and Agendas were
posted in all three places and on the web site.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES- Harley Trosch moved to approve as printed
and Paal Hansen seconded. Motion carried.
OLD BUSINESS-The Construction Deposit Agreement was brought
up that the Town Board chose to go in a different direction than
what the Planning Commission recommended and to make sure that
the Planning Commissioners understood that, which is alright,
it is ultimately the Town Boards decision.
NEW BUSINESS - Bob MacIntosh was made aware of two opportunities
that exist out there, one being the Coastal Zone Grant and that
there are funds made available from the federal government.
Because Oconto County has coastal interface all of Oconto County
is available for this grant. The types of work that can be done
with this grant include the betterment of lakes, rivers, and
streams which protects them from milfoil and other invasive species.
The Oconto County Economic Development was asked at their last
meeting to start the process to submit to the state/federal government
and what is needed to begin this process, only have until November
to submit for this grant, but there is significant dollars that
are available. There is a need to pull all of the communities
together for the submission and there may not be sufficient time
for this particular grant, however, it doesn't mean this grant
would not be available again.
The Focus on Energy Grant is something that the Planning Commission
can pursue for an activity. There are grant dollars available
for adding solar to municipal buildings for an alternative energy
source that can pay for the most part all of the process, however,
there will need to be additional research, but would be a great
opportunity for the Town to get involved with this grant. Once
all the information is made available for this grant it should
be made aware to all the towns that this grant is available.
ANY AND ALL OTHER BUSINESS
NEXT MEETING-October 26th, 2010, 6:00pm
ADJOURNMENT-Harley Trosch moved to adjourn and Mike Donnick
seconded. Motion carried. Meeting adjourned at 6:25pm.
Respectfully submitted,
Tawny Booth, Secretary
