Minutes

Notices for this meeting were posted at the Town’s three posting sites.

Meeting was called to order at 6:00 pm by Chairman Bob MacIntosh. Commissioners present were Bob MacIntosh, Erv Limberg, Harley Trosch, Elsie Jensen and Geri Kolakowski. Also present; Marge Butler, Secretary, Bob Farrell, Shawn Fidler, Mike Richling, Jim Wisneski, Roger Steinbach, Kathy Steinbach, Lucas Steinbach, Jason Steinbach, and Tom O’Neil.

Action Taken: Approval of Minutes from the July 28, 2009 meeting. Limberg made the motion to enter the minutes into the record, seconded by Kolakowski and passed unanimously.

Discussion: The “Hidden Bear Trail” Town of Doty/Riverview ATV Club gave a presentation of their progress and plans for the future to expand access in the town for ATV trails. The group meets the first Saturday of each month and has 80 members at this time. They have been involved in trail patrol training in order to help people on the trails as well as control those who are violating the rules. The group has been working with the forestry and needs approval from the town in order to proceed. Chairman MacIntosh suggested that an open meeting for the citizens of Riverview to voice their opinions and understand the plans of the ATV club is necessary. It was agreed that a special meeting of the Planning Commission will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11:00 am to invite the public to learn more about the ATV club’s plans. The Planning Commission agreed to work together with the club to find the best solution to the trail access situation.

Discussion was held regarding a Uniform Dwelling Code Construction Escrow Deposit Agreement for the Town of Riverview. Plan Commissioners agreed that we must have a better understanding of the reasons to implement an agreement. Many people are already confused when building a home regarding the regulations and time-lines for permits that they are expected to follow. It may be unreasonable to add more regulations and expense to their projects. Building Inspector, Duff Leaver will be invited to our next meeting to explain the reasons for his request.

Update on Town Logo: Erv Limberg presented a town logo plan which will be taken to the next Town of Riverview Board meeting for their input and approval.

Other Business: None

Adjournment: Motion was made by Limberg, seconded by Kolakowski and passed unanimously.

Next Meeting: September 29, 2009

Minutes submitted by Marge Butler, Secretary.
