Riverview Planning Commission
October 27, 2009 - 11:00 AM
Riverview Town Hall, 15471 State Hwy.32

Minutes

The meeting was called to order, after the Pledge of Allegiance by Chairman, Bob MacIntosh. Roll call was taken. All commissioners were present; Harley Trosch, Erv Limberg, Elsie Jensen and Geri Kolakowski. The chairman asked for certification of posting and it had been properly posted in all 3 places. Also present, Ann Hogan, Kitti Orchel and Mike and Chris Donnick.

Erv Limberg moved to accept the minutes as printed and Elsie Jensen seconded. Motion carried.

Under new business, Ann Hogan, chair of the Town of Riverview asked to be on the agenda. She wanted to update the commissioners on the property surrounding the existing Riverview Fire Department and Town Offices. All the grass has been planted. The property owners on Island Lake Road have asked her to do something about their view now that the tornado came through and all they see is the salt shed. It has been suggested they plant a double row of trees to make the view better. The ice rink has been improved and they are working on the hockey rink. They have over 50 pairs of skates. Ann Hogan, Kitti Orchel and Kris Donnick have cleaned and refurbished all the skates that have been donated. They felt it would be best if they set up dates and had appointments made for fitting skates and doing trade-ins. It would be great if we got some donations of warm socks. Not all the children bring warm enough socks. Corrigan Constructions Co. may have a shed to donate for a warming shed. Under Parks and Recreation, on our web site, there will be information on whether the ice rink is open or not. Mike Hedman, bartender at the Halfway Bar has been collecting donations for the Hockey Rink. The Parrot Club is willing to donate to the project once we determine our needs. Dick Booth has offered to help with the music for the rink.

Ann Hogan also brought up that we need to put up some kind of protection for the loader at the salt shed. We are going to need power if we do anything else and the power should be put in first before we go ahead with any other projects Whatever we build for the tractor/loader should be big enough to house picnic tables, etc. Talk to Tim McGuire about donating poles.

Next meeting agenda, 3 to 5 and 10 year plan for the Riverview Park and Recreation 19 acre complex.

Under old business, Erv Limberg showed us a template for the Town Logo that he and Chris Donnick worked on. Erv Limberg recommended the bottom two logos on the right. Harley Trosch seconded. Motion carried.

As there was no other business, the next meeting will be November 24, 2009 at 6:00pm.
Motions to adjourn by Erv Limberg. Seconded by Harley Trosch. Motion carried.

Respectfully submitted,

Geri Kolakowski
